CW 3 Updates, Patches and Improvements

Dear Community Weaver Coordinators,

It has been about 4 months since we released Community Weaver 3 (CW3). Many timebanks have either migrated to CW3 or are practicing with the new software and are planning migrations in the next weeks. Since the first release of CW version 3.0.0 we have been busy improving the new timebank software and have released 11 new minor versions, approximately one every ten days. The current release is CW version 3.0.11.

The first versions were to fix small bugs and usability issues. Later ones also provided new features including:

  • Social icon setup for FaceBook and Twitter, visible in a block on the home page and/or in each webpage footer. Visitors to the site can 'Like' the timebank on Facebook or follow it on Twitter.

  • Improved the usability of filters for reports and views forf members and coordinators.

  • Improved printing for many pages, particularly member accounts, exchange reports, exchange certificate pages, offers or requests and the Timebankers' Talents directory.

  • Added filters for coordinators to give them more choices when preparing reports and sending broadcast mailings.

You can view the entire list of release notes in the Community Weaver Wiki. We will be releasing new patch versions every 2 weeks. The next one (3.0.12) is planned for Monday, August 3.

We are also already working on CW 3.1, an upgrade that will include new features for tracking donations and payments as well as for sending timebank members automatic payment reminders or requests to donate.
