Authenticated users

in CW 2 Site-Admins Helping Site-Admins

What are all of the ways in which a member (user) gains the authenticated status (it is not a role)?  I thought it was the result of clicking on a link sent in an initial email authentication message.  There is the persistent problem of messages going into members' junk mail...  I would like to assume that if a member (not yet approved/activated) is shown as being an authenticted user, we can at least conclude that they did receive and respond to the initial (automated) email message? For example, if they reset their password, will that trigger authentication also?  If a coordinator activates their account without verifying the member is receiving internal CW messages, will that trigger authentication?  I have not tested these or other scenarios yet - just wondering if someone has a quick and definitive answer!  -Kelley
